My Microsoft Teams is only allowing me to add 20 meetings on my calendar. I need to be able to add several more to utilize this tool for my business. How can I fix or change this limit?

    Hi @Thomas McLean,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Regarding to your question about Calendar Meetings limited to 20, as I researched, Microsoft Teams does not impose a global limit of 20 scheduled meetings. You can create many more meetings, the published limits apply to participants and certain features, not to the number of meetings you can add.

You can see: Limits and specifications for Microsoft Teams

The issue you're facing is likely one of these reasons:

1/ Channel Calendar vs. Personal Calendar:

    • The Teams Calendar (left navigation) and Outlook Calendar allow unlimited scheduled meetings.
    • The Channel Calendar app may appear restricted if your organization’s meeting policies disable channel meeting scheduling.

    2/ Meeting policies:

Administrators can control settings such as:

    allowPrivateMeetingScheduling

    allowChannelMeetingScheduling

If these are turned off, you may see errors that resemble a meeting limit.

    3/ Client or sync problems:

Certain Teams client versions have reported issues preventing new events from being added. Updating the Teams app or using Outlook on the web often resolves this.

4/ Ad‑hoc Calls vs. Scheduled Meetings:

The “20” figure sometimes refers to ad‑hoc calls from chat, which are limited to about 20 participants. This does not apply to scheduled meetings.

Here are some steps you can try to see if it works for your situation:

1- Create the meeting in Outlook on the web:

Go to Outlook on the web > Calendar, select New event, add attendees, and choose Teams meeting.

This path generally ignores any client‑specific glitches.

2- Check your Teams meeting policies (ask your IT admin if you don't have admin privileges):

Go to Microsoft Teams admin center and confirm you’re allowed to schedule private meetings and channel meetings (allowPrivateMeetingScheduling, allowChannelMeetingScheduling).

If these are off, you’ll see errors that feel like “limits.”

3- Update or switch the client:

Update the Teams app or try teams.microsoft.com. Several threads show the new client blocking channel calendar edits until updated.

4- Avoid the chat “Meet now” path for bulk scheduling:

“Meet now” and ad‑hoc chat calls have different limits (the “20” you may have seen), you can use Calendar > New meeting for scheduled events.
