GIFS in Teams Chat not previewing

When utilizing teams chat, I have the ability to send gifs to whomever. However, I have lost the ability to preview the full GIF before sending it. I now have to send it in order to see what the full GIF is. As a district we have already checked off the ability to allow for Optional connected experiences, so I don't believe this is the issue. Is anyone else having an issue with GIFS not automatically loading/previewing before being sent in Teams chat?

    Dear everyone experiencing this issue,

I’ve checked the Service Health dashboard, and at the moment, there are still no recorded incidents or official posts regarding this problem. It’s possible that Microsoft hasn’t received enough reports from affected users yet.

One community member, @Ernst, kindly shared a temporary workaround: deleting the folder located at

    %userprofile%\appdata\local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams

may allow you to view GIF previews in the Teams desktop app. A big thank you to Ernst for sharing this tip!

Please note that this workaround might not be permanent, as some users have reported the issue returning. To help ensure this gets addressed properly, I encourage everyone to report the issue via:  Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Health > Service Health > Report an issue (as mentioned in my previous post). This is the most effective way to make sure the dedicated Microsoft support team can log, investigate, and deliver a comprehensive fix.

Thank you all for your understanding and collaboration

I tried to delete the folder, but it did not work for me. The GIFs do work correctly on my Teams app on my phone though.
