Hi,

May request assistance with the sudden missing data on CPU usage in the virtual machine? This is the first time it has occurred where it didn't gather information like CPU, Memory, etc. for a long period of time.

The virtual machine is still in a running state and is able to be remote. We already checked the CPU usage inside the VM, and it's below 70% of the VM. The SKU we used is E4as v4, which is it's supports Host metric gathering data.

Is there a way to check like an agent inside the VM, and solve this issue?

    Hello @Ma. Kassandra Bernabe ,

This seems to be an issue with the Azure Monitor Agent on the VM.
Can you please check that the Azure Monitor Agent is installed and running on your VM.

You can check with below steps:

    1. Go to the Azure portal, select your VM.
    2. Look for "Extensions + applications." on the left panel.
    3. Look for Azure Monitor Agent if it's there in the extensions or not.

If this doesn't help and you still see the monitoring agent, I'd like to know more details about your issue observed to understand the issue better:

    • Is the same behavior observed for all the metrics for your VM?
    • Have you recently made any changes to the VM or its configurations ?
    • Are you using any network configurations (like VPN or private links) that might affect connectivity to Azure Monitor or if you have done any changes to your connected virtual network/NSG/Routing Rules?
    • Have you tried replicating the issue by creating a new VM with same configuration (inside the same resource group using same VNet and subnet) and see if you are still missing metrics?
    • Have you tried Redeploying or Stop+Start the VM, sometimes these help to rule out infrastructure related issues ?

Additionally, I've reached out to you over Private Message to ask more details about your VM, kindly share those details so that we can check in depth for your VM.
