just updated windows 11 KB5065426 network shares no longer connect. the server is older but access is required and has been working for years.

    Using the Map Network Drive function, I found it at \NAS540\nas.

    Use your IP address, not the one below

    1. Manually Access the PC by IP Address or Name

    The most direct way to check connectivity is to bypass the automatic discovery process.

    Find the target PC's IP address or name: On the PC you can't see, open Command Prompt and type ipconfig to find its IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.10) or type hostname to get its name.

    Access it directly: On your PC, open File Explorer and type the IP address or name with double backslashes in the address bar:

    \192.168.1.10

    \\W10ComputerName

    If this works, you have a connection, and the problem is purely with network discovery display issues, not file sharing itself. You can map a network drive for permanent access.
